Itzbeen-Baby Care Timer

When I heard the product name for the first time I thought is that German for something? Now, I can tell you it is English for "life saver".

When we first had Emma we quickly learned not only did we have to stay on top of all of Emma's feedings, but remember to feed ourselves. It is amazing that the simple basic task of eating at some point throughout the day escapes your parent brain when you are taking care of a newborn.

The Itzbeen has numerous functions, but essentially it helps you track diaperings, feedings, sleep and miscellaneous tasks. It has four buttons, one each for diaper change, nursing or feeding, sleep or awake and medication or another task.

You simply press the button each time you do one of the tasks and the timer starts. We fed Emma every two hours in the beginning so if we had seen on the Itzbeen that we were getting close to that time, we could pre-plan in case we about to go somewhere or if it was about time for Emma's nap.

Added benefits of the Itzbeen, it has a soft-glow nightlight, which acts like a flashlight, and trust me you will get good use out of it, especially when you are tip toeing around the room in the dark trying not to wake the baby. It has a nursing reminder that allows you to remember the last side you fed from. It also has a backlight so you can see in the dark the times the Itzbeen is reporting.

There are also optional alarms if you prefer to be alerted when time is approaching the next feeding or diapering. The Itzbeen has a handy clip so you can clip it to your diaper bag or wear it. And another great feature is a lock that keeps the Itzbeen buttons from being pressed by accident while its in your bag or pocket.

We have used the Itzbeen every day since Emma was born and it is like having a second brain- a brain that isn't sleep deprived.

The Itzbeen comes in Blue (which actually looks more purple-we have this color and love it),  Green and Pink.
